Setup Instructions

Before Submitting Your Order:

Please follow these instructions carefully. I do not offer refunds or review your submission for errors.

MANUSCRIPT:

-Only submit a flattened, multi-page pdf of your manuscript interior.

-The pdf should have no more than 150 pages

-Only include the interior of the book. Please do not include the cover within the pdf!

-Each page should have the same dimensions (width and height).

PDF is the professional exchange format for print assets, and flattened layers prevent compatibility issues. If your manuscript is not a PDF, you may be able to export one from your word processing app or use a tool like Adobe Acrobat's free online converter. Some apps may also allow you to "print" your file to a pdf.

COVER IMAGE:

-File must be a png or jpg of the front cover only. Do not include the spine or back cover.

-I recommend an image that’s at least 650 pixels wide at 72dpi (screen resolution).

METADATA:

I highly recommend filling out all of the fields on the order form when possible. This improves the reading experience and searchability of your book!

SKIP FIRST PAGE?

The first “spread” in any print book consists of the interior of the front cover on the left, followed by page 1 on the right. You ePub mimics this by adding a blank placeholder for the interior of the front cover:

However, if page 1 of your manuscript is nonessential, like a filler graphic or spacer page, you may choose to skip it on the order form. This starts your ePub with with the second spread (pages 2 and 3). Skipping nonessential content reduces your file size and creates a cleaner e-reading experience.

SKIP LAST PAGE?

Similar to the "skip first page" option, this checkbox allows you to eliminate the final spread. In a print book, this is the spread containing the last page on the left and the inside of the back cover on the right:

Keeping the last page adds a blank placeholder for the cover, while eliminating it removes the spread.

You retain all ownership of your uploaded files and the resulting ePub. Do not upload material that is not yours! For more information, please review the terms of use.
